Today Nick Hamilton and I got out to Aucklands newest gravity fed riding destination near Kawakawa Bay, Fourfourty Mountain Bike Park. They opened the park late into last season, closed for the winter, now they are back up and running and in full swing getting into what seems to be a busy first proper season of riding.
I was fortunate to help out at the start of the year putting in some of the hand built lines with Steve Carpenter, Rohan Alton, David Franich and Wyn Masters. Its good to see these lines have been tweaked and had a good winter to bed in. The whole park is running exceptionally well.
Byron Scott, 440 Co-Owner and his team of Trail Builders and Volunteers have put in a huge effort over winter graveling, fixing sections, signage, making hq a pretty cool set up, sorting the systems and getting in some new trails for the new season. Cheers Boys.
Check out www.fourfortymtbpark.co.nz for more details and passes etc. Get amongst it folks, its awesome.
